Have you ever stopped yourself pursuing an idea because of the fear of failure?
Or have you ever given up because of failure?
This week I’m super excited for you to meet my friend Jules Dan, one of the most enthusiastic, energetic people I know.
In the pursuit of finding meaningful and fulfilling work for himself, Jules has courageously put himself out into the world.
Over the last few years, he has drawn on his skillset, passion and creativity to launch various ventures.
Some of his ideas made no money, others crumbled under changing market conditions, while some were draining and unfulfilling.
Yet after each ‘failure’, Jules managed to pick himself up and move on to the next thing.
What I really admire about Jules is his ability to use failure as a learning opportunity, which is something I think we can all do better.
In this very candid and honest conversation, we dive into Jules’ journey – how he got started, how he dealt with his fears and doubts, what helped him stay motivated and growth-focused despite his setbacks, and the key lessons learned.
You don’t need to be pursuing your own business idea to find value in this podcast – this episode is for you if you’re pursuing anything outside your comfort zone – be it a new job, career transition, or new hobby.
We also discuss Jules’ Zone of Excellence and Zone of Genius, which follows on from Episode 239 (a must listen, by the way!).
As you’re about to hear, along his journey, Jules has discovered his Zone of Genius: his ability to help people tell their stories.
He is launching a brand new podcast called Storytelling Secrets – if you want to learn how to tell your story for more engagement, make sure you check it out.
Jules has also generously provided Stand Out Get Noticed listeners with a freebie: a framework for creating great stories. Click here to access it (will open up a Facebook messenger chat).
